The Offshore Radio Station

These are pictures which I took in 1986, while working as a studio/radio engineer on the offshore radio station, The Voice of Peace. This radio station broadcast from a converted Dutch coaster anchored near Tel-Aviv Israel. The broadcasts were made on 1540kHz AM (actually, while I was there, it was on 1530kHz) with 25kw of power, and 100MHz FM in stereo with 80kw erp. Most of the studio equipment was made by Harris/Gates, but there were also Revox and Teac reel-to-reel tape recorders.
